A place to arrive

Our old country house welcomes you warmly with its thick stone walls and is nestled in the gentle, rolling hills of Gascony.

As a chambre d’hôtes, La Bordeneuve is not a hotel, but a private home we open for a limited time. Especially for people who need a pause, seek closeness to nature, and want a space of their own where they can feel themselves again.

This place can offer you grounding and protection. Here you can arrive without having to perform or prove anything.

The soft vastness, the clear light and the quiet of the surroundings invite you to slow down on the inside.

The Rooms

Retreat spaces with excellent sleep quality
Each of our two guest rooms has its own character and speaks to different needs. Both spaces are intentionally pared back so you feel at ease right away.

La Petite Chambre
La Petite Chambre – a bright, welcoming room with views of the pool and greenery. Its gentle vintage feel with carefully chosen, subtly feminine details makes it especially appealing for people who want a soft, sheltered retreat and like to be closer to the heart of the house.

Atmosphere

La Petite Chambre (approx. 12.5 m²) is ideal if you’re looking for a smaller, gentle retreat. The view from the window, the warm daylight and the friendly orientation immediately give you the feeling of having arrived. When you look out, your gaze falls on the pool and into the greenery. The room feels soft, bright and inviting — a place that supports you in settling down and coming back to yourself.

The 140 × 200 cm bed offers you a sheltered place to snuggle in. This room also comes with allergy-friendly bedding.

La Grande Chambre

La Grande Chambre – a spacious, calm room with a grounding presence. Ideal if you need plenty of space to arrive and breathe.

Atmosphere

La Grande Chambre (approx. 20 m²) is a quiet, clear space. Two deep-set mullioned windows sit in the centuries-old walls and open the view onto the large, natural garden. Light grey ceiling beams and the warm wood tones of the furniture create a calm, protective atmosphere that helps you arrive right away.
The design is intentionally pared back. So you can settle inwardly, we avoid decorative distractions and TV.

Pool & outdoor area

A quiet place under the open sky
Around La Bordeneuve, a wide, quiet landscape opens up. Our outdoor area is intentionally not a perfectly manicured garden, but a place where you can feel the gentle hills of the Gers directly. Between old trees and fragrant plants like rosemary, lavender and thyme, you’ll find secluded spots everywhere where you can simply sit, look, and let your soul unwind.

Your Hosts

“We, Katharina and Dirk, open La Bordeneuve as a private home for a limited time. We live here ourselves and consciously keep the setting calm and personal. Our role is not that of a hotel team, but of hosts who provide a mindful, respectful place. We are approachable and open to contact. We’re happy to share impulses and inspiration. At the same time, it’s up to you to use this special place as a space for retreat, inner clarification, reorientation, rest — or something else.”

Meals

La Bordeneuve is not a hotel. In the morning we offer a simple, fresh breakfast. You shape your other meals in whatever way feels right for you. Many guests enjoy self-catering because it gives them quiet, independence, and a natural daily rhythm.
Kitchen & shared areas
You can use our kitchen by arrangement with us to prepare small meals. Filtered water is available free of charge throughout your stay. In summer, the terrace is perfect for eating; in winter, the warm, quiet indoor space.
Regional produce
In Auch you’ll find various weekly markets, small producers and shops with seasonal products. If you like, we can recommend places where you can find good regional food.
Meal package
For longer stays, a simple meal flat rate can be arranged individually. It’s not a fixed service, but an option to make your stay easier.

Surroundings of La Bordeneuve

La Bordeneuve lies in the heart of Gascony, a culturally rich landscape in southwest France. This region is ideal for people looking for a retreat for a short stay in southwest France. It’s shaped by gentle hills, wide fields, farms that have been cultivating organically for generations, and a rhythm of life guided by nature’s cycles.

When the weather cooperates, you can even see the Pyrenees in the distance — a sight that surprises many visitors to Gascony. The mountains aren’t visible directly from La Bordeneuve, but from many points in the surrounding area. Especially from the upper town in Auch, the view opens up, making their presence clearly and majestically felt on the horizon.

How far away is Auch and what does the town offer?

Just 4.5 km away lies Auch, the former capital of the historic province of Gascony. The Sainte‑Marie Cathedral, the town’s landmark, towers over the upper town. Auch was also home to the famous musketeer d’Artagnan, whose monument in the upper town recalls the region’s living history. From there, 370 impressive steps lead down into the lower town.

At first glance, Auch seems rather quiet. Those who lean in discover real life. It’s worth simply wandering the old-town lanes with their small cafés, boutiques and shops selling regional crafts — and on Saturdays or Thursdays, tasting regional specialties straight from the producers at the weekly market. It’s a way of immersing yourself in what’s simple and real here.

Does the Camino de Santiago pass by La Bordeneuve?

The Via Tolosana as a quiet companion on the way

A section of the Via Tolosana — the southernmost Camino de Santiago route in France — runs from Auch to Montesquiou and passes directly by our access road. Some people feel: there’s something special about being in a place where a path runs by that people have walked with their hearts for centuries.

Even its closeness hints at what it carries: the knowledge of transitions, the courage to set out, and the trust that every path unfolds for the one who walks it.
